– 12:00 p.m.Afternoon/Evening Shift: Monday – Thursday, 1:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in both classroom and lab settingsDeliver engaging instruction aligned with industry standards, codes, and workforce expectationsInstruct students on the proper and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment, emphasizing OSHA standards and jobsite safety proceduresCreate a positive classroom and lab environment that supports student engagement, collaboration, and retentionMaintain and update lesson plans, instructional materials, and lab activities in collaboration with program leadershipMonitor and document student attendance, academic progress, and performance in accordance with institutional guidelinesAccurately enter grades, evaluations, and required documentation into school systems on timeEnsure classrooms and labs remain clean, organized, safe, and fully equipped, reporting maintenance or supply needs as neededSupport student success through coaching, mentoring, and proactive engagement strategiesParticipate in required training, in-service sessions, and staff meetings to remain current in instructional methods and industry trendsStay informed of industry advancements and maintain required certificationsEnsure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and safety regulationsPerform other duties and special projects as assigned by Program Coordinator or Campus LeadershipRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience in the electrical trade OR three (3) years of teaching experience in electrical or related programsStrong understanding of electrical tools, systems, codes, and safety practicesEffective verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on student engagement and instructional clarityStrong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environmentHighly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesPositive and professional attitude, with a commitment to student successPreferred QualificationsNational Center for Construction Education and Research (The NCCER ICTP Certification is required before instructors start teaching classes.
