Electrical Engineer – Engineer IV / Engineer V

The Opportunity
Metric DCX is supporting a leading utility and power infrastructure organization hiring experienced Electrical Engineers at Engineer IV and Engineer V level.
These are senior technical positions providing engineering expertise and leadership across complex utility projects. Depending on experience, candidates will take responsibility for technical reviews, mentoring, engineering direction and the resolution of complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and leadership across complex electrical engineering projects
- Lead the identification, analysis and resolution of engineering challenges
- Review and oversee the work of other engineering professionals
- Coach and mentor engineers, supporting their technical development
- Plan, estimate, schedule and monitor engineering activities
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, design documentation and recommendations
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering practices and standards
- Provide technical direction and guidance to internal teams and wider stakeholders
Qualifications
Active Professional Engineer (PE) licence required for both roles.
Engineer IV
- 8–12 years' experience as a practicing engineer or equivalent
- Experience within the utility industry
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices
- Experience reviewing engineering work, mentoring others and independently resolving technical challenges
Engineer V
- 12+ years' experience as a practicing engineer
- Extensive utility industry experience, with demonstrated technical leadership
- Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories and practices
- Proven ability to lead complex engineering decisions, evaluate technical alternatives and provide industry-level technical direction
- Significant experience mentoring engineers and reviewing technical work
