Electrical Engineer - MCI Protection & ControlFully Remote • Remote or Lakewood CO - Lakewood, CO 80215OverviewSalary Range $85,000.00 - $125,000.00 Salary/year Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage Minimal: 0 - 10% Category EngineeringDescriptionElectrical Engineer – MCI Protection and ControlMid-LevelEssential ResponsibilitiesPerforms detailed design on all P&C aspects of electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, instrumentation and controls diagrams, sequence of events documentation, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.Prepares computer-based models and perform power system studies on mission critical and industrial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies. Employee should create simple hand checks to quantify the computer aided results.Develops protective relay, RTU, DFR, and network settings.Prepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including Sequence of Events/Operations, proposals, and studiesProvides field assistance and troubleshootingChecks the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as requiredUnderstands the applications of relevant Codes and StandardsAssists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetingsOther duties as assignedMust HaveEducation: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferredExperience: 1 – 5 years of relevant engineering or field experienceLicensure: FE, PE is a plus, but not requiredKnowledge and familiarity with electrical designExperience with IEEE 2030.7 is preferred but not required.Experience with NERC PRC interconnection standards is preferred but not required.Possesses effective written and oral communications skillsGood interpersonal and people skillsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisWorking ConditionsWork Environment: - Work is performed in an office setting and some field work may be requiredTravel: - Typical: 5 – 10%Physical Activities: - Must be able to lift 25lbs.About NEI Electric Power EngineeringServing Others.
