Electrical Engineer IIForge Nano Inc. is a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets. Forge Nano is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join their Engineering Design and Manufacturing Team. The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, integration, and support of electrical systems for semiconductor equipment and related automation platforms.
This role contributes to system architecture, supports product development, and collaborates across engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure robust and scalable solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, Industrial control panels, and wiring architectureCreate and maintain schematics, BOMs, and electrical drawings (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)Select components such as sensors, motors, drives, PLCs, and safety systemsEnsure compliance with applicable standards (UL, CE, SEMI where applicable)Control panels, low-voltage instrumentation, and power electrical distribution design is required.Support PLC and motion control integration (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, etc.)Interface with software/controls engineers for system functionality and debuggingValidate I/O mapping and system communication (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)Support system commissioning, debug, and validationTroubleshoot electrical and system-level issuesConduct electrical testing, verification, and failure analysisParticipate in new product development and sustaining engineering effortsIdentify design improvements for performance, cost, and reliabilitySupport design reviews and risk assessments (FMEA, design validation)Work closely with:Mechanical engineering (integration + packaging)Process engineering (tool requirements and constraints)Manufacturing (build and assembly support)Field service (issue resolution and feedback loop)Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision controlSupport generation of technical documentation for installation and serviceEnsure compliance with safety and regulatory requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field3–6 years of relevant experience in electrical design, controls, or system integrationExperience with:Electrical schematics and panel designPLC-based control systemsIndustrial sensors, actuators, and power systemsStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsWork EnvironmentThis is an on-site role. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel-toed shoes, lab coat, and around certain equipment, a hard hat.
