Job Description

Electrical Engineer, Hardware Design!

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with 2+ years of experience building physical hardware to join our lean, high-impact team designing the next generation of solar-powered highway camera systems. You're someone who has owned a full PCB design end-to-end, seen your hardware fail in the real world, and learned from it. This company is scaling from dozens of deployed cameras to hundreds across the country, and we need methodical, hands-on engineers who can make our hardware more robust, reliable, and manu-facturable. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves getting their hands dirty, and is excited to solve open-ended problems — from designing circuits to testing them on the highway.

What will you be doing?

Designing, iterating, and testing PCBs and circuits in Altium — owning the full lifecycle from schematic capture through manufacturing and field deployment

Working in the electronics lab with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other test equipment to debug and validate hardware

Improving hardware robustness and reliability to support nationwide scaling of solar-powered camera systems under tight power budgets

Writing embedded C/C++ or Python code to test, spin up, and validate hardware designs

Collaborating across embedded systems, operations, and software teams — and occasionally traveling quarterly for field installations and calibration

This dynamic company builds solar-powered camera systems deployed on highways for tolling, speed enforcement, and traffic management — processing 11 million images daily with computer vision. They're the tolling industry's prime tech infrastructure with a vertically integrated hardware + software product.

Profitable company backed by Y Combinator and Maniv Mobility. Lean team of ~30 engineers going from 1 to 100 - this is the moment to join and own critical hardware that scales nationally.

This role is ideal for an Electrical Engineer who would be owning full PCB design end-to-end. Comp ranges $140K-$180K+ base with meaningful equity (including periodic buyback opportunities).

**Denver-based, 4-5 days in office.

Requirements

Experience at a startup or small team with broad hardware ownership (not siloed)

PCB design and layout in Altium or equivalent EDA tool

Must be in or willing to relocate to Denver; in-office 4-5 days/week

US work authorization (H-1B transfer, TN, OPT, or citizen/green card accepted)

Seniority

2 - 6 years of experience in hardware electrical engineering, with PCB design end-to-end using Altium or similar CAD tools

Owned full PCB lifecycle : schematic capture through manufactured, tested hardware

Education

BS or MS in Engineering

Embedded C/C++ or Python for firmware/test automation

Self-directed problem solver who independently identifies root causes and proposes solutions without guidance

Nice-to-have

Hardware deployed in harsh/outdoor/unattended environments (IoT, medtech, field devices)

Power systems: solar, battery management, DC-DC conversion
