Electrical/Electronics Engineer IILocation: Des Moines, WA 98198Pay Range: $48.00 - $55.00/hr. On W2Temp Only - approx. 6 months (It could be extended, with some possibility of conversion depending on the future workload and performance)Job DescriptionCandidate will be responsible for the implementation of various FAA National Airspace Systems into various FAA facilities must possess basic knowledge of electronic engineering principles, theories, and concepts.

Work will be in collaboration with FAA engineers on technical issues, equipment requirements and cost, material list, design concepts, schedules, site surveys, and technical reports.ResponsibilitiesConduct site surveys or review existing reports to assess rack space, cable routes, power needs (UPS/Backup), and thermal loading for new equipmentProvide engineering support including design development, SIP/IRD preparation, design updates, technical reviews, and coordination activitiesDesign installation layouts for NEXCOM receivers, transmitters, APC gateway units, equipment racks, and related communication equipmentDesign copper, coax, and fiber optic cabling installations, including power, grounding, labeling, and bondingSupport antenna and communications infrastructure work as identified and authorizedSupport equipment checkout, installation verification, Joint Acceptance Inspection (JAI), exception clearing, and turnover activitiesSupport de-installation, removal, and disposition of legacy equipment per FAA directionUpdate documentation, redline drawings, track assets, and complete closeout activities as requiredDevelop engineering packages based on FAA orders, standards, and Technical Instructions for field installation of radar, automation, communication, and navigational equipmentDevelop Risk Management, Transition, and Cutover PlansProvide technical oversight for projects from start to finishCollaborate with FAA engineers on technical issues, equipment requirements, costs, material lists, designs, schedules, and reportsThis position is based in Des Moines, WA with 5 days in office. Occasional travel or night/weekend work up to 20% is anticipated.Required SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in electronics, communications, or infrastructure engineeringKnowledge of electronic engineering principles and conceptsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentsFamiliarity with applicable engineering codes and standardsAbility to travel nationwide and work on active construction sites in varying conditionsMust pass FAA background checksPreferred SkillsExperience with FAA National Airspace Systems or aviation communication systemsExperience with NEXCOM equipment, APC gateway units, or related FAA infrastructureExperience designing and installing copper, coax, and fiber optic cablingExperience with Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and equipment turnoverExperience developing Risk Management, Transition, and Cutover PlansFederal, aviation, transportation, or large infrastructure project experienceEngineer in Training (EIT/FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) certificationExperience with Bluebeam or similar markup softwareStrong communication and coordination skillsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
