Wagstaff Law Firm is a national leader in Personal Injury and Mass Tort litigation, specializing in cases involving defective products and medications. We are committed to advocating for individuals harmed by these faulty products and holding the manufacturers accountable. Mass tort litigation empowers plaintiffs by giving them the collective strength to take on large corporations and pursue justice through group litigation.
At Wagstaff Law Firm, our success stems from our unwavering dedication to our clients and our community. Our team thrives on the satisfaction of helping victims get the justice they deserve, unifying our employees and creating an exceptional workplace culture. If you’re passionate about making a significant impact and contributing to a dynamic team, we invite you to join us in our mission.
The Role
We're looking for a Director of Data Operations to own our case and claimant data end to end — quality, architecture, reporting, and the roadmap for where AI and automation take us next. This is a hands‑on leadership role. You'll lead the data team, with a direct report running our implementation and onboarding function, and you'll need to know the work deeply enough to direct it, pressure test it, and raise the bar for everyone around you.
There's a real backlog to clean up, and part of this job is building the plan to fix it — then building the systems so it doesn't come back. You'll be cleaning up what exists while staying ahead of where the firm is going.
What You’ll Do
- Own data cleanup, auditing, and quality across our case and claimant data, getting it clean, accurate, and settlement ready — with a clear plan to work through the existing backlog and prevent it from recurring
- Design and build our data architecture the right way — APIs, integrations, and our CRM stack — with a deep understanding of how the systems connect, not just how to patch them
- Model, audit, and pressure test large data sets on demand, and turn them into reporting firm leadership can actually act on
- Set the roadmap for AI and automation: where we use it, how we use it, and how it cuts manual work
- Lead and develop the data team, including direct management of our implementation and onboarding function
- Stay in front of the firm’s growth — anticipate what the data operation needs before it becomes a problem
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years' experience leading data operations, data quality, or data engineering work — ideally somewhere the data was messy when you arrived and clean when you left
- Deep command of data architecture, APIs, and system integrations, with hands‑on CRM experience
- Expert-level Excel — this is non‑negotiable. You should be able to take a large, messy data set and model, audit, and stress test it on the spot
- Proven experience with AI and automation — you know what’s worth building and what’s hype
- Management experience, with the technical depth to direct the work yourself when needed
- Comfort operating in a fast‑moving environment where you’re fixing today’s problems and building for next year at the same time
- Experience with legal CRM and case management platforms (Litify, Salesforce for legal, Filevine, SmartAdvocate, or similar) is a strong plus
- Legal industry or mass tort experience is a plus, but not required — we care more that you can learn our world quickly
The salary range for this position is $165,000-185,000 annually, based on skillset, years of experience, licensure, and demonstrated capabilities. This role is also eligible for quarterly and annual bonuses in addition to our full benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays.
Why Wagstaff
You’ll do meaningful work for real people, with a team that takes the mission seriously without taking themselves too seriously. We offer a business casual environment, hybrid schedules, competitive compensation and bonuses, strong benefits, and a firm culture that values innovation and autonomy.
