Job Description
The Demand Planner is responsible for creating accurate and timely demand forecasts to ensure optimal inventory levels. The role involves analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and business intelligence to develop forecasts that support decision-making in the supply chain. Additionally, the Demand Planner collaborates with Purchasing and Account Management teams to monitor inventory performance, minimize stockouts and excess inventory, and align inventory levels with forecasted demand.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’sdegreeinBusinessorsimilarfieldor4+yearsofexperienceinarelatedrole
  • Thoroughunderstandingofstatisticalmodels
  • ProficientinMSOfficeapplications,includingPowerPoint,Excel,Outlook,andWord
  • Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills
  • Excellentorganizationalskillsandabilitytomultitask/prioritizebasedonurgency
  • Preferred familiarity with SQL, MS Access, and SQL Server
Job Responsibilities
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
  • Forecastdemandandplaninventoryreplenishmentsincoordinationwithprocurement
  • Create“best” forecastbasedonhistoricaldataandfuturebusiness intelligence
  • Analyzeforecastaccuracyandidentify forecasterrors;identifywaystoimproveforecasting accuracy
  • Generatemonthlyforecastreviewreports,includingnewlysuggestedforecasts,specialsales history, and store openings for Account Managers to review
  • Organizemonthlysalesforecastmeetings
  • CommunicatewithAccountManagers regardingupdatestocustomerperformanceandspecial events
  • Advise AccountManagement onwhichsafetystockmethodtoutilize basedonhistoricaldata and forecast
  • Communicate andcoordinatewith Demand Planning softwareconsultantonsoftware issues and data connection with company’s internal remote server
  • Monitor inventory levels regularly to ensure alignment with forecasted demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations
  • Collaborate with purchasing and account management to optimize inventory turnover and manage slow-moving or excess stock
  • Release recommend POs weekly or as needed
