Position Overview:

The Director of Delivery is responsible for the successful execution and operational oversight of a portfolio of professional services programs, ranging from custom project engagements to fully outsourced managed services. This leader ensures delivery excellence, drives business outcomes, develops high-performing teams, and serves as a trusted advisor to clients and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of programs while ensuring alignment with client objectives, contractual commitments, and business strategy.
  • Establish delivery standards, governance frameworks, and operational best practices across engagements.
  • Translate strategic objectives into executable roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive consistency in delivery while maintaining flexibility to meet client-specific needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and Program Managers across multiple engagements.
  • Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Identify capability gaps and partner with leadership to support hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing delivery organization.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for clients, ensuring transparency, trust, and successful outcomes.
  • Partner with Sales, Account Management, and Executive Leadership during pre-sales, solution design, and delivery transitions.
  • Lead executive-level communications, including business reviews, risk discussions, negotiations, and value realization conversations.
  • Own portfolio financial performance, including revenue, profitability, utilization, forecasting, and cost management.
  • Ensure programs are delivered within scope, budget, and timeline expectations.
  • Drive effective resource planning and demand management.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Solutions teams on scope management, change orders, and commercial risk mitigation.

Delivery Governance & Risk Management

  • Implement governance frameworks covering status reporting, issue management, and risk escalation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate delivery, operational, and client risks.
  • Drive disciplined change management and scope control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.

Operational Excellence

  • Continuously improve delivery methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Utilize KPIs and performance metrics to drive operational improvements and delivery quality.
  • Champion efficiency, scalability, and standardization across the portfolio.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, engineering leadership, operations strategy, or technical consulting.
  • Experience delivering programs within Utilities, Oil & Gas, or related technology environments.
  • Proven success managing a portfolio of programs and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of project management, program management, and professional services delivery.
  • Experience working with OKRs, KPIs, and organizational performance frameworks.

Domain Expertise

Strong understanding of:

  • Land acquisition processes
  • Permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Easements and land rights coordination
  • Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in engineering, utility operations, or utility networks.
  • Experience leading programs across field operations, engineering, and technology organizations.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business stakeholders and executives.
