We are seeking a Data Center Lead Technician to lead small installation projects and teams of 3–5 technicians. This role will serve as a technical SME while supporting project planning, execution, troubleshooting, documentation, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate teams of 3–5 technicians on data center installation projects .
- Support project planning, task execution, scheduling, and required documentation.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, and project scopes to ensure successful execution .
- Manage on-site material and tool inventory.
- Ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements .
- Perform high-quality installations while following industry and manufacturer standards.
- Train and mentor technicians on installation, termination, testing, and telecom room (TR) build-outs.
- Develop and teach Level of Effort (LOE) practices.
- Troubleshoot cable systems and accurately interpret test results.
- Stay current with industry standards, technologies, and best practices.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned technologies when needed.
- Demonstrate strong customer service, teamwork, communication, leadership, and work ethic.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in data center, telecommunications, structured cabling, or low-voltage installation.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of fiber terminology, cable testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience leading small teams or projects is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation.
- BICSI or other industry certifications preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
