Data ScientistApex systems has an immediate opening for a Data Scientist with our client in the financial services industry.Major Purpose:A Senior Data Scientist for Market Regulation Technology will work to establish and institutionalize data science and machine learning best practices as our client moves to ML based pattern development. The development product for this move will be the creation of the Dynamic Surveillance Platform.Essential Job Functions:Development of the ML Framework within the Dynamic Surveillance PlatformWork closely with multiple client businesses to build the ML FrameworkCollaborate with Data Engineers to specify Data Framework featuresStrong coding skills with a history of creating and supporting reusable packagesAnalyze experimental data with statistical rigor. Ensure accurate interpretation by combining business acumen with detailed data knowledge and statistical expertiseBuild machine learning based surveillance models to monitor markets and protect investorsClearly communicate analytic insights as concrete, actionable recommendations for new modelsEnable independent interpretation of results through education, improved tools, and data visualizationEducation/Experience Requirements:5-7 years of relevant experience with a track record of applying analytics to drive business impactStrong background in machine learning and knowledge of advanced statistical methods and predictive modelingStrong coding skills in Python, SQL and ETLSolid statistical knowledge and intuition, ideally utilized in experimentation and modelingStrong algorithmic thinking and independent research abilityExcellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with strong business acumen.
