The Opportunity
- Apply data science and analytics to real mission problems for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
- Join a collaborative team turning large, complex geospatial datasets into insights analysts can act on.
- Work with modern Python-based tooling in an Agile, mission-focused delivery environment.
- Grow your skills alongside senior data scientists, engineers, and mission stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop analytic models and data processing workflows against structured and unstructured datasets.
- Clean, filter, transform, and enrich data to support exploratory and production analytics.
- Build visualizations and dashboards for exploratory and comparative analysis.
- Support integration of analytic capabilities into program systems alongside development teams.
- Collaborate with analysts and Product Owners to refine analytic requirements into working solutions.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and model behavior.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver within sprint and PI commitments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (equivalent experience accepted).
- 4+ years of data science or analytics experience.
- Proficiency in Python (or R) and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience applying statistical analysis, classification, regression, or clustering techniques.
- Experience with data visualization tools (matplotlib, Tableau, or similar).
- Security Clearance (TS/SCI) with willingness to undergo polygraph examination.
Desired
- Exposure to geospatial data and tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoPandas).
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and model deployment.
- Experience operating within SAFe or Agile delivery frameworks.
Benefits & Compensation
Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $69,100-$141,500, subject to factors such as geographic location, contract categories, relevant experience, and skill set. Benefits include healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time‑off options.
