We are seeking a Data Processing Analyst to support viral hepatitis surveillance programs by accurately maintaining, entering, and processing health data within state surveillance software. This role involves applying standard public health case definitions, conducting data quality assurance, managing document review queues, and collaborating with surveillance staff to preserve data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and enter hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) laboratory and case data into public health surveillance databases.
• Review and manage assigned surveillance document review queues.
• Apply CDC/CSTE case definitions to evaluate and determine case status.
• Identify acute, reinfection, perinatal, infant, and fetal death cases.
• Perform routine data cleaning, quality assurance, and resolution of record discrepancies.
• Process paper, electronic, and orphaned laboratory reports.
• Coordinate medical record requests as assigned.
• Communicate notable data findings, discrepancies, or issues to the team lead.
• Participate in scheduled team meetings, training sessions, and program activities.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in data entry, data systems, medical, or public health settings is strongly preferred.
• Residency Requirement: Must be a current resident of Tennessee prior to the start date.
• Travel: Minimal travel required (approximately 2 4 in-person meetings per year in Nashville, TN).

Working Conditions:
• Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)
• Schedule: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week, Mon Fri 8:00 AM 4:30 PM CST)
