There’s also a chance that there would be a critical situation that would require assistance earlier or later in the day, so not sure how that’s best handled.Responsibilities:Reports to technical services managerManage multiple availability groups on a three server on-premises virtual environment including critical databases associated with patient careManage multiple other databases spread across various physical and virtual serversUse various applications to monitor system and database resources and performanceTune performance and poorly performing queries as needed to reduce downtime and improve overall user satisfactionWork with members of other internal teams and external support to ensure optimized SSRS reporting and EHR application performance as neededRefresh lower environments as needed by other teams to facilitate testing and developmentManage and monitor backups and log shipping to prevent loss of data in the event of a catastrophic failureApply Windows OS, SQL, and application updates as necessaryOn call if outages or serious degradation of performance is encountered on mission critical databasesManage access rights to databasesRequirements:Experience with Microsoft SQL versionsExperience w/ large databasesMicrosoft SQL certifications and/or 5 yrs of experience in a medium to large SQL environmentKnowledge of the administration of the Microsoft SQL Server platformExperience with hardware and software virtualizationKnowledge of industry best practicesExcellent organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to work independentlyExcellent analytical and problem solving skills
