Charter Solutions is hiring a Data Architect who is responsible for defining and evolving the organization's enterprise data architecture, ensuring data platforms, models, and governance practices are scalable, reliable, and aligned with long-term business objectives. This role serves as a strategic partner to IT and business leadership, driving the design of an integrated data ecosystem that supports enterprise reporting, self‑service analytics, data governance, and future AI/ML initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong architectural expertise with hands‑on technical capabilities and a collaborative approach to establishing data standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, principles, and reference frameworks.
  • Design scalable Microsoft Fabric solutions, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, semantic models, and reporting architectures.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, and data integration.
  • Define development, testing, and production environment strategies to ensure consistent and reliable solution delivery.

Data Governance & Solution Enablement

  • Provide architectural oversight for data initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and long-term strategy.
  • Collaborate with Data Platform Engineering teams to establish reusable patterns, pipelines, and platform capabilities.
  • Evaluate architectural tradeoffs and provide guidance that balances business needs, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Promote the adoption of shared datasets, semantic models, and standardized metrics across the enterprise.

Data Integration & Enterprise Strategy

  • Design and document enterprise data flows, lineage, ownership, and integration patterns across multiple systems.
  • Develop canonical data models that create consistency across platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Brightree, and other enterprise applications.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to standardize data definitions, improve data quality, and reduce duplication.
  • Establish governance frameworks supporting metadata management, security, compliance, and controlled data access.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with business and technology leaders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Mentor team members on data architecture principles, modeling techniques, governance practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the organization's long‑term data strategy and modernization roadmap.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in enterprise architecture and data strategy initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of data platforms, processes, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, or data platform design.
  • Experience designing and implementing Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, OneLake, Power BI, or related cloud‑based data solutions.
  • Strong expertise in dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, and enterprise data architecture.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical data structures into business‑focused solutions and insights.

Preferred

  • Experience integrating and modeling Salesforce data within enterprise analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Brightree, or similar operational systems.
  • Experience within healthcare, medical device, or other regulated industries.
  • Consulting or mid‑sized organization experience with both strategic and hands‑on responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and cross‑platform data integration.
  • Experience developing canonical data models and governing enterprise data standards.
  • Ability to balance immediate business needs with long‑term architectural sustainability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Hands‑on technical aptitude and willingness to contribute when needed.
  • Experience building data capabilities in evolving or maturing environments.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and results‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
  • Demonstrated ownership and commitment to delivering scalable, reusable data solutions.
