CT Tech II is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures on a specified patient population. This position models appropriate behavior exemplified by MLH Mission, Vision and Values, and promotes a culture of excellence.
What You Will Do
- Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
- Assist in the development of others through guidance and teaching.
- Promote the professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and policies and procedures.
- Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment.
- Plan work and complete job responsibilities efficiently and productively.
- Demonstrate professional work behavior and excellent customer service in all interactions.
- Perform additional job functions as required.
Education & Formal Training
- Required – Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology.
Experience
- Required – 1-3 years as a CT Tech I.
Licences and Certifications
- Registered Technologist – Computed Tomography (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective communication and relationship building with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated clinical competencies in radiography imaging equipment and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS – preferred).
Physical Demands
- Climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Exert up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 25 pounds frequently.
- Close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
