Overview
We are looking for an upcoming radiology or imaging graduate or recent graduate to fill a full‑time/night shift CT Technologist position at Bloomington Hospital. The hours will be Tuesday – Friday, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. Two holiday shifts are required. The candidate will work with another Tech during the shift.
Applicants who meet eligibility may receive a sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities
Operates CT scanner, prepares and positions patients, screens patients for safety, obtains IV access, administers contrast as required, and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events.
Possesses knowledge of scan protocols and selects appropriate protocol to address clinical concerns, adjusts scan parameters to ensure diagnostic images, collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians, follows radiation safety protocols, performs routine QC on equipment, stays current with continuing education, assists in medical alert situations, communicates effectively with patients, families and members of the care team, documents necessary information in EMR, and assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
Performs diagnostic procedures in a timely fashion, demonstrating appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric, follows physician's instructions, and treats patients with care and respect.
Qualifications
- 0 – 3 years of relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
- Active status through American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT): Registered Technologist – Radiography, RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
- Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months of hire.
- Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
