Computed Tomography Technologist - Day Shift - 12 x 3

The Computed Tomography Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, competently executing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and ingenuity. Utilizing prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes, this role is essential for ensuring optimal imaging results.

Responsibilities
  • Independently performs computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
  • Utilizes complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data.
  • Demonstrates proper technique in venipuncture and uses a power injector according to set protocols.
  • Administers oral, rectal, and intravenous contrast as per physician orders, while assessing patients for potential risk factors.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and co-workers, demonstrating a high level of caring, dignity, and respect.
  • Follows universal protocol for patient identification using two identifiers.
  • Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders to ensure optimal results.
  • Documents patient history in electronic records as required.
  • Ensures proper coding, tracking, networking, and charge entry for exams performed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with system-wide competencies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
  • CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was obtained or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field is required.
  • ARRT Certificate and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Compliance with Pennsylvania Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.
Schedule

This position operates on a Day Shift schedule, consisting of 12-hour shifts over 3 days a week.
