Summary: The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist Lead is an advanced, experienced user of the CT scanner and demonstrates mastery of hospital or clinical imaging competencies. The CT Technologist Lead coordinates patient scheduling and daily work assignments and serves as a resource for the technologists in the CT Department. Helps ensure operations function at high levels of efficiency and exceed customer expectations. The CT Tech Lead coordinates training and development of the CT Technologists and stays informed of technological and procedure changes. Observes radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures. Excellent communication skills are necessary.

  • Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to accommodate each patient’s needs.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care as deemed by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and regulatory entities.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes imaging procedures, maintaining high patient care and continuity throughout the workday.
  • Performs examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed.
  • Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS; follows PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser.
  • Escalates any problem to the PACS administrator or designee as needed; troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions to leadership or Biomedical personnel with appropriate follow-up.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education/Skills: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
  • Experience: 2 years of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
  • Basic Computer Experience Required
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Computed Tomography (CT) by ARRT is required; State Licensure required; Texas: MRT by TMB; BLS required
