This full-time position involves a blend of critical care medicine and anesthesiology within a tertiary care center. The role offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment with a focus on cardiovascular surgical disciplines.
Practice Info
- Work environment: Hospital Clinic/Private Practice
- Interprofessional care model covering 14 Cardiovascular ICU beds
- Treats patients across the spectrum of cardiovascular surgical disciplines, including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Mechanical Circulatory Support (ECMO, LVAD, Impella, IABP, etc.), and Vascular Surgery
- Cardiovascular ICU is renowned for its high acuity and complex patient cohort, evidenced by a 3-star Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) rating
- Anesthesia department operates primarily under a medically directed model, with a small percentage of solo cases
- Provides coverage for 26 anesthetizing locations, including high-volume referral center cardiothoracic anesthesia, structural heart program, vascular surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, regional blocks, orthopedics, and low-risk OB
Responsibilities
- Approximately 60% clinical time in Critical Care Medicine
- Remaining time in anesthesiology
