ROLE: Credit & Collections Specialist

About the Role
Our client, a confidential, established organization, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Credit & Collections Specialist to support accounts receivable operations, manage customer accounts, and drive timely payments. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building customer relationships, and maintaining accurate financial records in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer accounts, accounts receivable aging reports, and account reconciliations
- Follow up on outstanding balances and secure timely payments
- Identify credit risks, resolve billing discrepancies, and flag potential bad debts
- Prepare and distribute customer invoices, statements, and management reports
- Monitor overdue accounts and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve collections processes and payment timelines
- Assist with customer credit checks and additional accounts receivable projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree or 4+ years of relevant collections experience
- Accounts receivable experience required
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with ERP systems or route accounting is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
- Customer service and payment negotiation experience is a plus
