About the Position


Fabrication Designs, Inc. is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for a three-month temporary assignment at our office in Columbia, MD.


We are looking for a hands-on accounting professional who can help us catch up on outstanding bookkeeping, reconcile accounts, and complete our financial year-end closings for 2024 and 2025.


Additionally, the CPA will review our previously closed financial records for 2022 and 2023 to verify accuracy, identify discrepancies, and recommend any necessary corrections.


Key Responsibilities


  • Review and organize outstanding accounting records and transactions.

  • Enter and properly categorize transactions in QuickBooks. Prepare internal financial records for audit. 

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.

  • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial records.

  • Prepare journal entries with supporting reconciliations as needed.

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

  • Provide recommendations to improve bookkeeping accuracy and internal accounting processes.


Qualifications


  • Active CPA license required.

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks.

  • Proven experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and year-end closing procedures.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses preferred.
