Assembly TechnicianWe are seeking a hands-on Assembly Technician to build and assemble heavy-duty conveyor systems and material handling equipment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication and assembly environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble heavy-duty conveyor systems, including frames, rollers, bearings, drives, and componentsRead and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and work instructionsInstall shafts, sprockets, chains, gearboxes, and motorsPerform alignment and fit-up of mechanical componentsWork closely with Engineering to support builds, troubleshoot assembly issues, and perform in-house shop setupsUse hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficientlyVerify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, squares, etc.)Assist with troubleshooting and correcting assembly issuesWork with welders and fabricators to ensure proper fit and functionMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaMeet production schedules and deadlinesRequirements2+ years of mechanical assembly experience (conveyor or heavy equipment preferred)Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawingsStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsGreat communication skills and ability to work effectively with Engineering and shop personnelExperience with: Bearings, rollers, and shaftsChain drives and sprocketsGearboxes and motorsAbility to use standard shop tools and measuring equipmentAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work on feet for extended periodsReliable, punctual, and team-orientedPreferred QualificationsExperience with conveyor systems or material handling equipmentBasic welding or fabrication knowledgeExperience with rigging and equipment movementForklift or overhead crane experienceWork EnvironmentShop environment with heavy steel componentsExposure to noise, dust, and moving equipmentPPE required (safety glasses, steel toe boots, etc.)
