AST SpaceMobile is pioneering the first global cellular broadband network in space, aiming to connect the unconnected mobile subscribers worldwide. The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and maintaining industrial control systems to support this mission.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems for automated equipment and industrial processes.
- Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
- Develop control architecture using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
- Program and commission PLCs using platforms like Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
- Integrate robotic systems and configure industrial communication protocols.
- Perform factory and site acceptance testing of automated systems.
- Troubleshoot system issues during installation and operation.
- Implement process improvements for system reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in risk assessments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field.
- Experience programming PLCs and HMIs.
- Strong understanding of electrical control systems and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics and technical drawings.
