We’re conducting a confidential search for a Controller to lead the accounting function for an established and growing organization. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can take ownership of the accounting operation, strengthen processes and controls, and serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, experience leading a team, and a track record of improving accounting operations within a complex, operationally driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, and other operational accounting functions
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning
• Lead accounting systems and process improvement initiatives
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• Present financial results and insights to senior leadership
• Partner with operations and other business leaders to support financial and operational objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Progressive accounting leadership experience, including Controller or similar-level responsibility
• Strong hands-on knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Experience with cost accounting and/or manufacturing accounting
• Experience managing and developing accounting staff
• Strong ERP experience and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a growing organization

Preferred

• NetSuite or similar ERP experience
• Background in manufacturing, consumer products, distribution, or another product-based environment
• Experience presenting financial information to senior leadership or ownership
