Key Responsibilities
As the Controller, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while serving as a key financial partner to executive leadership.

Lead the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting

Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and job costing

Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for leadership

Partner with the President and other leaders on annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic business planning

Monitor project profitability, job costs, margins, and percentage-of-completion accounting

Develop financial reporting and analysis that supports stronger operational decision-making

Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members while establishing clear expectations and accountability

Evaluate existing accounting processes and implement improvements, efficiencies, and automation

Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures

Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary accounting contact throughout the audit process

Help the Controller function evolve alongside the organization as the business continues to grow
Qualifications
The ideal Controller will bring:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience

Previous accounting leadership or management experience

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Experience with job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting

Experience leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Strong understanding of internal controls and audit processes

Ability to manage and develop an accounting team

Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment and moving between detailed accounting work and higher-level strategy

Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with executive and operational leadership
