Position Overview:

n

Henry Ford Healthis seeking acontingent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This inpatient, operating room-based role provides care for high-acuity adult cardiac surgery patients and includes endoscopic vein harvesting and first and second assisting in a wide variety of cardiothoracic surgical procedures. The APP will work closely with a collaborative team of cardiothoracic surgeons and surgical staff in a fast-paced, highly specialized environment. Candidates must have prior cardiothoracic surgery experience;new graduates will not be considered.

  NP or PA graduate from an accredited program

Education & Training

n

· Nurse Practitioner (NP):Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

· Physician Assistant (PA):Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

n

Licensure

n

· Current licensureas a Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)

n

Certification

n

· NP:National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP)

n

· PA:Certification by theNational Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
