Position Description
Join a third-generation, family-owned commercial construction company with over 70 years of excellence and a strong commitment to community. We're seeking an adaptable, driven Construction Worker who thrives in a team-oriented, professional environment.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing a wide variety of duties and tasks involving physical labor that support construction and construction maintenance projects; operating various power tools and equipment; preparing and maintaining work sites; handling various materials; assisting trade and craft team members and supervisory personnel; communicating and collaborating with other team members, subcontractors and clients; supporting and adhering to all company safety, operating and regulatory compliance-focused policies and practices.
Essential Duties:
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of the company's commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Depending upon the M-K Group to which the Laborer is assigned, may perform a wide variety of duties in support of construction, concrete construction and construction maintenance projects.
  • Actively supports communications and relationship building activities with clients and subcontractors; assists in building trust and confidence by exhibiting professional, competent and friendly image.
  • Proactively, professionally and with a team-focused attitude collaborates and communicates with construction site teams, management and supervisory personnel and team members throughout the company to integrate activities and achieve goals.
  • Complies with established company operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  • Responds to inquiries or requests relating to his/her particular area within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Position Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic reading, writing, and grammar skills; fundamental interpersonal relations and communications skills; proficient skills associated with the safe and proper use of various construction tools and equipment; general knowledge of various construction processes requiring labor support; in depth understanding of M-K safety policies and practices supporting a committed safety culture and safe working environment; collaborative and generative attitudes and abilities toward working as part of a team; visual and auditory skills.
Education/Experience:
  • A High School Diploma or GED; general training and education focused on the use of construction tools, equipment and construction labor activities preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in comparable positions
