Job TitleResponsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of compressors, pumps, engines, and related rotating equipment used in oil and gas production and processing facilities. This role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing downtime. The mechanic performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses mechanical failures, replaces worn components, and supports equipment startups and shutdowns in a field environment.ResponsibilitiesEstimates work load to establish completion dates.Assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc.Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates.Actively participate in the use of all on the job safety toolsReview job packsIdentify any safety issues associated with job end ensure removal/mitigation prior to workingExecute work as plannedRecord technical history as required by workgroup.
(Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheet, etc.)Provide feedback on job pack improvements to Execution FLSRequest permits and notify Supervisor if permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of requested timeInspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain compressors.Diagnose and repair centrifugal, positive displacement, and transfer pumps.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, pumps, engines, gearboxes, couplings, and related equipment.Replace bearings, seals, packing, valves, pistons, rods, cylinders, belts, and other mechanical components.Perform precision alignments using laser or dial indicator methods.Conduct vibration, temperature, and performance inspections to identify equipment issues.Troubleshoot lubrication, cooling, fuel, and air systems.Perform engine maintenance including tune-ups, timing adjustments, and component replacement.Assist with compressor package installations, startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.Read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.Coordinate with operations personnel to schedule repairs and minimize production downtime.Follow all company safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and safe lifting practices.Respond to emergency equipment failures and after-hours callouts as required.Qualifications2+ yrs. of Compressor/Pump Mechanic experience required.High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in prioritiesProficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programsStrong communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe conditions in the field and recommend remediation stepsMust meet conditional job offer requirements.
