Hybrid Contract Recruitment

Commercial Litigation Associate | Miami, FL | $130,000 to $200,000 | Commercial Litigation

The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.

Contracts are written by optimists and litigated by realists.

That gap, between what the parties hoped would happen and what actually did, is where commercial litigators earn their living. The good ones can read a deal, find the pressure point and explain to a client in two sentences what the case is really about.

I'm Ryan Jaiswal at Distinct Recruitment, and I'm hiring a commercial litigation associate in Miami for a client firm. Hybrid, three to five years of experience, and a practice where associates are trusted with substance.

Your cases

• Commercial contract disputes and business torts

• Disputes between business partners, shareholders and members

• Breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and unfair competition claims

• Matters in state and federal court, and in arbitration

• Depositions, hearings and trial preparation, with real responsibility for case strategy

Your experience

• 3 to 5 years of commercial litigation

• Florida Bar license

• Strong academics

• Excellent research and writing, and the confidence to put your own analysis in front of a partner

• Judgment about cost and proportionality, because clients notice

Your package

• $130,000 to $200,000. The range is purposely broad, and there's flexibility for the right candidate where experience warrants it

• Hybrid working in Miami

• Direct work with partners, and mentoring aimed at making you a lead litigator

• Increasing client contact as you prove yourself

Why this is worth a look

Miami is an international commercial city, and its disputes reflect that. For a litigator a few years in, the question is whether your current role gives you the matters and the responsibility to grow with the market. If you're still mostly supporting rather than shaping cases, a move now gives you the room before years six and seven arrive.

I'm happy to share more detail on the practice and the team in a conversation, and I'll be candid about whether I think it suits you.
