Commercial Auto Senior Claims SpecialistIAT has an immediate need for a Commercial Auto Senior Claims Specialist who can be located in one of the following IAT offices:Alpharetta, GeorgiaCheshire, ConnecticutScottsdale, ArizonaNaperville, IllinoisRolling Meadows, IllinoisOmaha, NebraskaRaleigh, North CarolinaThis role will handle complex commercial trucking claims covering the entire United States. The Senior Claims Specialist is responsible for investigating the extent of the company's liability and will be responsible for handling injury claims from inception until conclusion of the claim, which could include attorney represented and litigation cases.This role works a hybrid schedule from any of the listed IAT office locations. The hybrid schedule reflects our values (thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork) as it requires working from the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.Although there is preference for an individual to work in one of the above mentioned IAT offices, we will consider fully remote work for the ideal candidate.Responsibilities:Handles complex, high exposure Commercial auto claimsPresents cases to Sr. Management for reserving and direction, as required by Claim Guidelines.
Verifies/analyzes applicable coverage for the reported loss.Evaluates, negotiates, and authorizes settlements with all stakeholders within designated authority.Selects, directs and manages Vendors/Counsel including approval of defense budgets.Maintains resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required.Travel as required to handle catastrophic claims, attend mediations and settlement conferencesPerform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Must Have:HS degree/GED with 8+ years of relevant claims experience or equivalentEquivalent is defined as 12+ years of relevant claims experienceInsurance Licenses to comply with state and IAT requirementsExperience handling commercial claimsExperience handling bodily injury claimsAppropriate claims licenseStrong customer service skillsExperience handling 3rd party claimsExcellent knowledge of Microsoft OfficeExcellent oral and written communication skills to communicate internally and externallyExcellent critical thinking and problem solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and customer service skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environmentTo qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposesPreferred to Have:Associate/Bachelors degreeExperience working in task-based claims systemsConsiderable experience handling litigated bodily injury claimsCompletion of AIC, CPCU, or other similar programOur Culture:IAT is the largest private, family-owned property and casualty insurer in the U.S. I NSURANCE A NSWERS T OGether® is how we define IAT, in letter and in spirit.
