Teaching Position With Topeka Public SchoolsTo be considered for a teaching position with the Topeka Public Schools, you must possess a current Kansas teaching license and be certified to teach in the area you are applying for at the time of appointment.Reports To: Building AdministratorQualifications: Applicants must meet the Kansas State Department of Education certification requirements for teaching Math. Good communication, consultation, and team building skills are also important.Physical/Emotional Requirements: The incumbent may be required to use the following skills and abilities during any part of the working day: speaking, hearing, visual, reading, writing, word processing, mobility, consistency of temperament, ability to work with a variety of problems at the same time, stamina for working long hours and in stress-producing environments.Performance Responsibilities: The person will participate in lesson design, formative assessment development, professional development, and overall department planning. Duties include:Lesson planningAssisting in the selection and approval of instructional materials, supplies and equipmentStudent instructionMaintaining accurate recordsAssisting with curriculum revision when appropriateSupervising students in common areas of the buildingCommunicating effectively with administrators, parents, and staffAssisting with school eventsSupporting the mission of Topeka Public SchoolsOther duties as assigned by the Principal
