Summary

Goldbelt is seeking a qualified Cognitive Performance Specialist (CPS) to support the U.S. Army Reserve's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) Performance Team. The CPS serves as a subject‑matter expert responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering evidence‑based cognitive performance and mental readiness programs designed to enhance Soldier resilience, improve performance under pressure, strengthen decision‑making, and optimize operational readiness.

Working as part of the Human Performance Team, the CPS collaborates closely with Strength & Conditioning Coach, Registered Dietitian, Athletic Trainer, Government leadership, and H2F Integration Teams to support Army Reserve units across the Indo‑Pacific region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement command‑specific cognitive performance & mental readiness programs in accordance with Army H2F doctrine.
  • Design and deliver evidence‑based mental skills training (attention control, goal setting, visualization, self‑talk, stress management, resilience, energy management, performance under pressure).
  • Develop educational materials, training resources, leader guides, and cognitive performance tools.
  • Conduct classroom instruction, workshops, and field‑based coaching.
  • Integrate cognitive performance strategies into military training events, leadership development, marksmanship training, field exercises, and other operational activities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to integrate cognitive performance, physical readiness, nutrition, injury prevention, sleep readiness, and resilience strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to H2F Integration Teams, Master Resilience Trainers, and unit leadership.
  • Participate in planning meetings, working groups, and synchronization sessions with government personnel.
  • Prepare required reports, after‑action reviews, and documentation per contract requirements.
  • Complete all mandatory government and installation training requirements.
  • Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and professional credentials.
  • Support recurring travel requirements throughout the Pacific region.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology.
  • Successful completion of an American Psychological Association (APA)‑accredited internship.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last four (4) years providing cognitive performance, mental skills training, resilience training, or performance psychology services to military personnel, tactical populations, collegiate athletes, professional athletes, or other high‑performing populations.
  • Current unrestricted state licensure as a Clinical or Counseling Psychologist.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Travel Required: Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Guam, American Samoa, Japan, and South Korea; a valid U.S. passport or the ability to obtain one.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), Army H2F, Human Performance Optimization (HPO), Tactical Human Optimization, Rapid Rehabilitation and Reconditioning (THOR3), Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF), Military Human Performance programs.
  • Collegiate or professional athletics, tactical performance psychology, mental readiness and resilience training, performance under pressure coaching, sleep optimization strategies.
  • Leader development and coaching.
  • Knowledge of Army H2F doctrine and cognitive performance principles; ability to develop evidence‑based mental readiness programs.
  • Strong understanding of performance psychology, resilience, stress management, and human performance optimization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with military leadership and Soldiers.

Pay & Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $145,000 to $175,000.
