The position is onsite on 1st shift at the company's Rochester-area facility, with occasional flexibility to support operations during an upcoming facility consolidation.About the RoleThe CNC Blanking Programmer will support the programming and production of precision sheet metal components, working closely with the manufacturing floor to ensure programs are accurate, efficient, and production-ready.ResponsibilitiesProgram multiple types of CNC equipment, including press brakes, laser turrets, and blanking equipmentBuild and optimize nests using customer-supplied models, drawings, and printsUtilize SolidWorks and CNC programming software to develop production-ready programsWork with Amada VPSS 4iE Blank for blanking and nesting applicationsSupport press brake programming and other sheet metal programming requirementsRespond to shop-floor programming questions and assist with setup-related issuesClose Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) and address pre-production review action itemsReview customer models and prints to ensure manufacturability and programming accuracyCollaborate with engineering, production, and other internal teams to resolve manufacturing issuesHelp identify opportunities to improve programming efficiency, material utilization, and production processesSupport the manufacturing team during the company's planned facility transition as neededQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have hands-on CNC programming experience within a sheet metal fabrication environment, along with strong CAD skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production personnel.Required SkillsPrevious CNC programming experience is requiredSolidWorks experience is requiredSheet metal fabrication experience is required; machining-only CNC experience will not meet the requirementsExperience programming CNC blanking, laser, press brake, or similar sheet metal equipmentExperience working from customer drawings, models, and printsStrong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processesAmada VPSS 4iE Blank experience is strongly preferredExperience with Dr. Abe Bend is highly preferredRadan experience is highly preferredPress brake programming experience is a plusPlex experience is a plusStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to troubleshoot programming and production issuesStrong communication and collaboration skillsStable employment history and demonstrated commitment to previous employers
