Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.CNC MACHINIST (RAPTOR) RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate CNC machines and produce flight hardware needed to achieve program level production rate goalsDeburr hardware in the assigned work center to contribute to deliveries to downstream customersChase machine cut threads to sizeInspect surface finishes, threads, and broken edgesBorescope parts to check for internal defects and debrisOperate clean line equipment, laser part marking, and general part finishing according to requirementsPerform CNC machine preventative maintenance on a weekly and monthly basisMaintain the shop in terms of chip bins, oils, greases, 5S and general upkeep activitiesComplete work instructions and test plans to document needed data throughout each processPerform precision set-ups of various CNC machines on state-of-the-art assetsPrioritize daily work to ensure high machine uptime across the assigned shop / areaManage cutting tools in CNC machines to ensure that machines have the needed cutting tools loaded and measured before they are called in upcoming programsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalency certificate1+ years of experience in manufacturingPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:5+ years of experience in manufacturingAbility to read accurately and write clearly, perform basic arithmetic calculations accuratelyExperience in shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading and measurement of partsStrong mechanical aptitudeStrong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, contributing to a team-oriented environment, balancing team and individual responsibilitiesPhysical Requirements: repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distractingADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Available for overtime and weekend hoursMust be available for 1st shift (5:00 AM – 3:30 PM)Capable of lifting up to 50lbs without accommodationCapable of standing and kneeling without accommodationCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: CNC Machinist/Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00/hour CNC Machinist /Level 2: $26.00 - $32.50/hour CNC Machinist /Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00/hourYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
