Machinist InspectorRequired Skills & Experience - High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a four year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent experience is a plusProficiency with standard dimensional measurement equipment such as analog micrometers, gauges, calipers, surface comparators, and CMMsAbility to accurately measure and read analog devices down to 0.0001 inchesKnowledge of cutting tools and machining techniquesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsAbility to maintain high quality standards and tight tolerances within 0.001 / 0.0001 inchesStrong understanding of machining principlesStrong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)High level of accuracy and repeatability in inspection activitiesMechanical aptitude and strong problem solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively with othersJob DescriptionThe Machinist Inspector conducts inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established standards of strength, quality, cleanliness, and endurance. Inspection responsibilities include expertise in dimensional measurement of tight tolerance machined components. Additionally, the inspector will support in process, material receipt, and pre shipping inspections with broad criteria covering cleanliness, dimensional conformance, verification of material properties (e.g., hardness testing), and packaging.

This is a 1st shift position.Your ChallengeRegularly inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, analog micrometers, dial indicators, bore gages, and other metrology equipment to ensure compliance with dimensional tolerancesPerform independent inspections to verify that materials, parts, and products meet established standards of strength, quality, cleanliness, and enduranceConduct in process inspections (on and off machining equipment) to identify and address nonconformances earlyEnsure all work is performed safely and meets defined quality standardsMaintain a high level of attention to detail and focus on assigned tasksCollaborate with team members to maximize productivity and efficiencyPrepare official inspection reports for submittal to customers or regulatory stakeholdersConduct material receipt and shipping inspectionsAssist in developing inspection requirements based on component design drawingsMentor junior inspectors to support overall team capability and growthThe compensation for this position ranges from $ per hour depending on experience.
