Senior CNC MachinistLocation: South SeattleShift: 1st shift (6:30AM start time)Pay Rate: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour (DOE)Position OverviewSeeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing and engineering support team. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with strong setup capabilities, advanced milling expertise, and the ability to support research and development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming adjustments, machine setup, prototype development, precision machining, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform complete setups and operation of CNC milling machines, including 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis equipment.Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models to manufacture precision components.Support Research & Development (R&D) initiatives by machining prototype parts and collaborating with engineers during product development.Select tooling, establish work offsets, and optimize machining parameters for efficiency and quality.Troubleshoot machining issues and make program adjustments as needed to maintain production requirements.Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards while meeting production deadlines.Recommend process improvements to increase quality, throughput, and machine utilization.Perform preventive maintenance and ensure proper machine care and housekeeping.Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.Required Qualifications5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environment.Advanced CNC setup experience with minimal supervision.Strong experience operating and setting up CNC milling machines.Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators.Experience troubleshooting machining processes and optimizing cutting conditions.Strong understanding of machining metals including aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel, and exotic alloys.Ability to work independently while supporting engineering and production teams.High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.Preferred QualificationsExperience with 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling.CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, or similar).Prototype and low-volume production machining experience.Experience supporting engineering development and R&D projects.Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing environments.CNC programming experience is highly preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a 10-hour shift.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.Ability to work safely around machinery and manufacturing equipment.Security & Compliance RequirementsMust comply with all ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements.
