Hybrid Contract Architecture

A locally based engineering firm based in Honolulu is seeking a Civil or Environmental Engineer to join their collaborative and mission-driven team. The firm specializes in civil and environmental engineering services, with a strong focus on wastewater treatment systems, site development, stormwater design, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering plans and drawings using AutoCAD for permitting and construction
  • Write clear, well-organized technical reports for engineering and environmental projects
  • Conduct site visits and fieldwork, including percolation testing, environmental sampling, and site investigations
  • Work independently and collaboratively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Apply problem-solving techniques to deliver effective civil and environmental design solutions
  • Assist in project management tasks, including developing schedules and tracking budgets
  • Understand local permitting processes and project execution practices in Hawaii

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) actively working toward PE licensure

Strong communication and technical writing skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across concurrent projects

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering and architectural plans

Highly detail-oriented and self-directed

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Must own a laptop and a mobile phone

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors for extended periods
