Northwell Health Urology is seeking a physician leader for the position of Chief, Urology at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, NY. This role involves working with the chair on clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a culture of scholarship. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development and excellence of the department within the Arthur Smith Institute for Urology.

  • The Smith Institute for Urology has seen tremendous growth over the past five years within Long Island, New York City, and Westchester.
  • Physicians have vast experience in minimally invasive procedures to treat all urologic diseases including those affecting the bladder, kidneys, male genitalia, and prostate.
  • There is a true camaraderie within the group, with weekly conferences to help keep all updated on the latest treatments and technologies.
  • The department has residencies and an extensive network of physician extenders.
  • The mission of the Department is to advance the frontiers of urologic care.
  • Urologic physicians are also faculty of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the chair on all matters related to clinical operations
  • Ensure high quality patient care through development and standardization of care processes and protocols
  • Continue to develop a culture of scholarship in quality improvement, health equity and outcomes
  • Ensure the productivity of physician faculty and support staff
  • Maintain and improve upon the excellence within the department

Compensation

  • Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Shift & Schedule

  • Full Time

Requirements

  • MD Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine
  • Completion of residency and fellowship with Board Certification or eligibility
  • Current for NYS License
  • Outstanding communication and management skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital management, and staff
  • Previous division, department, or program leadership
