As CDO, you'll lead all aspects of our fundraising strategy—from our annual campaign and major gifts to women's philanthropy and planned giving. This is a unique opportunity to shape the philanthropic future of Portland's Jewish community while building meaningful relationships with donors who share our values and vision.What You'll DoLead Strategic FundraisingDevelop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies across annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and endowment developmentPartner with CEO and leadership to set goals, metrics, and strategic directionPersonally cultivate and solicit major donor portfoliosIdentify new revenue streams and growth opportunitiesDrive Campaign SuccessOversee all aspects of the annual campaign and specialized divisions including Lions ($5,000+ women's campaign)Coordinate campaign themes, events, and communicationsRecruit, train, and support campaign volunteers and leadershipManage donor engagement from cultivation through stewardshipChampion Women's PhilanthropyLead signature events like IMPACT and women's giving initiativesDevelop recognition strategies for major women donorsBuild programs that engage and inspire women philanthropists at all levelsBuild & Lead TeamMentor and develop the development teamOversee department operations, systems, and budgetWork closely with board members and volunteer leadersRepresent Federation as an ambassador throughout the communityWho You AreExperience & EducationBachelor's degree required; Master's preferred5–7+ years progressive fundraising experience, preferably in Jewish communal or faith-based settingsProven success securing major gifts and leading campaignsCFRE certification a plusSkills & QualitiesPassionate about Jewish community with deep knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, and IsraelExceptional relationship builder with superior interpersonal skillsStrategic thinker who excels at executionOutstanding written and verbal communicatorStrong leader who motivates and mentors teamsHighly organized with ability to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable soliciting donors and working with volunteer leadersProficient with donor databases/CRM systems and Microsoft OfficeRequirementsValid driver's license and insuranceFlexibility to work evenings/weekends for eventsAbility to travel occasionally for professional developmentWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceComprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, life, and disability insuranceRetirement planGenerous PTO including Jewish and federal holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesMission-driven, collaborative cultureSubmit your resume and cover letter to Marc Blattner, Tell us about your passion for Jewish communal work and your vision for philanthropic growth.The Jewish Federation of Greater Portland is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
