Provides clinical care as needed when census demands.

Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.Education:Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing RequiredBachelors Degree PreferredWork Experience:1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting PreferredLicenses and Certifications:RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure RequiredBCLS - Basic Life Support RequiredAdvanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) RequiredPALS Certification (Emergency Department) RequiredChemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) RequiredNRP by the end of orientation period (Womens Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) RequiredAWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) within 1 Year RequiredPEARS Certification (at Piedmont Athens Hospital) RequiredPALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) RequiredACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) RequiredACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) RequiredExperienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification within 30 DaysBusiness Unit: Piedmont Augusta Hospital
