Universal Logistics is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Yard Switcher to join our team in Madison Heights, MI . This position is responsible for moving trailers safely and efficiently throughout the yard while supporting daily operations.
Position Details
- 1st Shift
- Monday-Friday (occasional Saturdays depending on customer needs)
- 5:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Starting Pay: $26.00/hour
- Consistent weekday schedule
- Move and position trailers within the yard
- Coordinate trailer movements to meet operational needs
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and management
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Class A CDL required
- 6 months of tractor-trailer experience
- Current DOT Medical Card (minimum 1-year validity)
- Clean driving record
- No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
- No more than 3 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
- Must pass DOT drug screen
