Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to customers, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities and experience with retail sales are a must.
Duties
Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries both in person and over the phone
Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods accurately and securely
Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
Assist with inventory management including stock replenishment and inventory counts
Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
Support in maintaining a clean and organized checkout area
Skills
Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and sales reporting
Experience supervising or leading a team is advantageous
Bilingual skills to serve diverse customer bases effectively
Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product placement strategies
Customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable demeanor
Ability to upsell products tactfully to maximize sales opportunities
Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail sales environments is preferred
Basic math skills necessary for daily cash register operations and sales calculations
