Carpentry Mechanical Assembler – 1st Shift - $28-34/hrThis role involves performing mechanical assembly and installation of components and fixtures onto larger products in a clean, well-organized shop environment. You will use a wide range of hand and power tools, read and interpret basic drawings and blueprints, and collaborate closely with assembly and design teams to support the full fabrication and installation process.ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical assembly and installation of parts, fixtures, and materials onto larger products according to specifications and drawings.Utilize a variety of jigs, hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately.Read and interpret basic drawings, prints, and designs to understand assembly requirements and ensure correct build quality.Collaborate with the assembly team and design team to troubleshoot issues, resolve fit or function concerns, and improve assembly processes.Assist with metal fabrication and metal forming activities as part of the full production and installation process.Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures and other measuring tools to maintain accuracy and quality standards.Support installation-related tasks that draw on construction or commercial carpentry experience while working primarily in the shop.Follow established training, safety, and quality procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.Essential SkillsProficiency in mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or shop environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and basic designs.Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly and installation.Skill in using tape measures and other measuring tools accurately.Experience with metal fabrication and metal forming processes.Experience in assembly, manufacturing assembly, or construction-related work.Ability to collaborate effectively with assembly and design teams.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in carpentry or framing, particularly in commercial construction, is highly valued.Experience in commercial carpentry or construction installation work is beneficial for supporting install-focused tasks.Experience as a framer or in commercial construction environments is an asset.Comfort working with a wide range of tools and materials in a shop setting.Willingness to learn, participate in structured training, and grow within a team-focused environment.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a very clean, well-organized, and well-lit shop with ample space to work safely and efficiently.
