UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. The midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities
Functions as primary scrub technologist for a variety of routine and complex procedures, demonstrating clinical skills with confidence and competence. Acts to ensure, with other surgical team members, a sterile field and aseptic technique that ensures a safe, cost‑effective environment for all patients, maintaining quality and excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
- Current certification with one of the following: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, National Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Service within 90 days of graduation from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Operating room experience.
