Essential Functions
The Cardiology Technician works under the direction of the Non‑Invasive Diagnostics Supervisor and the Service Line Administrator for The Heart Center. This position performs diagnostic testing procedures including EKG and Rhythm Strip, Holter and Zio Monitoring, and 30‑Day Event Monitoring. The technician supports the daily functions of the Cardiology Clinic and performs additional responsibilities within outpatient and inpatient modalities.
- Assists providers in conducting diagnostic tests in the Cardiology Clinic, Outpatient and Inpatient areas.
- Prepares for testing and explains procedures at varying levels based on patient age.
- Records information obtained from diagnostic tests accurately and provides quality reports to ordering providers.
- Communicates compassionately and effectively with patients and caregivers.
- Collaborates across boundaries with teamwork‑related behaviors.
- Assists with other clerical responsibilities such as billing and auditing; cleaning and disinfection of equipment; and answering the telephone.
Schedule
1st shift, Monday – Friday
Education Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent; post‑secondary education in a healthcare‑related field preferred.
Certifications
CPR
Skills
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with patients of all ages (pediatric to adult). Ability to function with flexibility and adaptability in an ever‑changing, fast‑paced environment.
Experience
1–2 years of healthcare‑related experience preferred.
