Cardiac Anesthesiologist

UPMC Hamot is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their team in Erie, PA. This role offers the opportunity to practice within a highly-regarded regional tertiary-care medical facility and Level II trauma center. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative care team model focused on healing, quality, and education.

• Regional tertiary-care medical facility, referral hub, and Level II trauma center
• Over 400 beds
• Almost 4,000 employees, including over 650 members on the medical team
• Care team model approach with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and surgeons
• Case assignments include Cardiac, ortho, neuro, general surgery, transplants, and OBGYN

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

• Salary: $565,000 annually
• Cardiac Stipend: $25,000
• Sign-on bonus: $75,000

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMC and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician
