Business Applications Analyst – ERP & AI

Location: Maryland / Washington, DC area — primarily remote, with office and client visits as needed

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 base

Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire

Our client, a consulting and technology services firm, is seeking a Business Applications Analyst to help small and midsize organizations improve their business systems and use AI to work more efficiently.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys learning new applications, understanding how businesses operate, and figuring out practical solutions. The team is open to recent graduates and candidates with approximately 1–4 years of relevant experience. Curiosity, initiative, communication, and a strong commitment to client service are essential.

What You’ll Do

• Support and improve ERP and other business applications used across finance, operations, sales, and related functions.
• Work directly with clients to understand their processes, gather requirements, and identify opportunities to improve workflows.
• Develop strong working knowledge of client applications, becoming a reliable resource for users and business stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot application issues, update reports, and assist with system and process changes.
• Support clients during legacy system replacements and application transitions through data cleansing, conversion, field mapping, testing, documentation, and user training.
• Explore and apply AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to reduce manual work and solve practical business problems.
• Coordinate with client teams, software vendors, and internal technology professionals to complete projects and resolve issues.
• Communicate progress clearly, respond promptly, and follow through on client commitments.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Entry-level through approximately four years of relevant experience.
• Exposure to business applications, ERP systems, or application support.
• An understanding of how technology supports business processes.
• Practical experience using AI tools to solve a problem, improve a process, or complete a meaningful project.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach.
• Adaptability, resourcefulness, and the initiative to learn unfamiliar systems and work through challenges.
• Strong organization, responsiveness, integrity, and attention to detail.

Helpful Experience

• NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or other ERP platforms. Experience with a specific platform is not required; transferable ERP knowledge is valued.
• Reporting, data cleansing, application testing, workflow improvement, or end-user support.
• Familiarity with accounting, finance, manufacturing, distribution, or nonprofit business processes.

Work Arrangement

The team works primarily remotely, with flexibility to attend office meetings and visit client sites as needed. There are no fixed weekly office days. Candidates based in Maryland or Washington, DC who can accommodate these visits are encouraged to apply.
