Roll Brush Painter
Assist in surface preparation, mixing of paint, application of coating, striping, and clean up. Position requires willingness to learn, and the ability to follow directions concerning painting in the marine industry. May be required to perform additional duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor for the completion of the job in a safe and timely manner.
What will you do?
Make certain surfaces are prepared for coating according to paint manufacturers' specifications; paint surfaces using approved methods, striping tanks in a productive and timely manner as well as mixing paint as directed; must work within OSHA requirements relative to the shipbuilding industry; must comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules and regulations; accurately operate, clean, and maintain all assigned equipment; properly store equipment; dispose of empty paint and solvent cans appropriately; properly store and take appropriate precautions for paint and solvents as directed by supervisor. May be required to perform additional duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor for the completion of the job in a safe and timely manner.
Qualifications
Ability to read and write effectively.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 6 months Marine Painting Experience
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Continuous visual awareness and mental focus.
Ability to work 8–12-hour shifts.
Availability to work 5–7 days per week, including overtime as needed.
Employment Requirements
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
Required physical examination and respirator fit testing.
Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Background check, including verification of the past seven years of employment history.
