Billing Specialist

Billing SpecialistThe Billing Specialist is an integral part of Latham's Global Finance team. This role will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the billing process and performing billing duties with varying levels of complexity, while preparing invoices for finalization in line with internal and external regulations and legislation, including Value-Added Tax (VAT), Solicitors' Accounts Rules under the Criminal Finances Act, and applicable money laundering regulations. This role will be located in our Orange County, CA office.

Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.Other key responsibilities include:Preparing and analyzing client billing requestsCreating, editing, and submitting bills in accordance with firm and client requirements, reviewing proformas, handling corrections, and coordinating e-billingEnsuring successful delivery of invoices and coordinating with revenue and e-billing teams to resolve rejections and reductionsGenerating and reviewing proformas from 3E for informational and billing purposesUtilizing computerized billing and payable software modules to complete billing processes, research issues, and provide information to customersProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsWe'd love to hear from you if you:Demonstrate the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels within an organizationPossess the ability to manage your workload and prioritize effectively to meet deadlinesExhibit strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAnd have:A high school diploma or equivalentA bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferablyPrior experience in a professional services environment, preferablyExperience using financial systems, preferablySuccessful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
